Peace Care Senegal 2011 – our trip is beginning! stay tuned to our blog

We are nearly off!  It has been an exciting year and a half preparation for this inaugural Peace Care project.  We have worked extremely hard with periods of smooth operation and rocky roads, alike.  Alas, the time has come to implement what we have been planning.

We will be heading to Saraya, Senegal soon to institute a cervical cancer screening program for the district as well as a sexually transmitted infection syndromic management approach and a diarrhea community project.  Traveling will be one family physician, one doctor of public health, two family medicine residents, one OB/Gyne, and one 4th year medical student.  The volunteers and administration at Peace Corps Senegal have put a lot of work into preparing our visit as has the local advisory board and the local lead physician, Youssoupha N’diaye.

We are anticipating our trip with much enthusiasm and we will be delighted to share our journey with you.  Please stay tuned here, over the next several weeks.

Peace and Care,
Andrew
